Slow Setting IS 8887As India’s leading bitumen emulsion manufacturer, HINCOL Emulsion Sealcoat-M is a slow-setting cationic bitumen emulsion (SS2 grade) conforming to IS 8887:2004, specially formulated for Type B Premix Seal Coat — the thin protective layer applied on top of Open Graded Premix Carpet in cold mix road construction. Sealcoat-M binds fine aggregates into a dense, impermeable surface that seals the underlying premix, restores skid resistance, and protects against water ingress.
Applied immediately after rolling of the Premix Carpet, HINCOL Emulsion Sealcoat-M enables no-heat, no-plant road construction on rural roads, PMGSY roads, and low-traffic surfaces. Manufactured by Hindustan Colas Private Limited — a joint venture of HPCL and COLAS SA France, with 85+ years of global cold mix expertise.

How to Use — Step by Step

Prepare Surface
Clean road surface. Remove loose material and dust. Fill potholes and compact before seal coat application.

Apply Tack Coat
Apply RS1 tack coat at 0.20–0.25 kg/sqm. Allow tack coat to break (turn dark) before proceeding.

Prepare Premix
Mix Sealcoat-M emulsion with fine aggregates (passing 2.36 mm IS sieve) at 10–12 kg emulsion per 10 sqm in drum mixer.

Spread Seal Coat
Spread premixed material evenly to ~10 mm loose thickness over tack-coated surface using rakes.

Roll
Roll with 8–10 tonne smooth roller. Open to traffic immediately after final rolling for Type B Seal Coat.
