Polymer modified, hot applied bituminous joint sealant conforming to IS 1834:1984 Type A — for sealing joints, cracks, and utility cuts in concrete roads, asphalt surfaces, and airport runways.
HINCOL ROADSEAL is a polymer modified, bituminous, hot applied joint sealant compound for sealing and maintenance of joints in concrete roads and asphalt surfacing. As part of HINCOL’s Special Bitumen Products range, it exceeds IS 1834:1984 specifications for Hot Applied Sealing Compounds, Type A.
Designed to be tough and flexible, ROADSEAL has good extension properties over a wide range of ambient temperatures and can normally be applied to joint sizes up to 30 mm in width and 25 mm in depth. It is the ideal solution for filling joints between concrete and bituminous surfaces to prevent entry of water and foreign materials, with excellent low temperature flexibility and recovery properties.
All types of cracks on concrete and asphalt road surfaces — longitudinal, transverse, and random cracking.
Runway edges, joints, and cracks that require maintenance — including taxiways and apron areas at airports.
Restoring utility cuts on roads and runways after underground cable, pipe, or service installation work.
Performance characteristics that make ROADSEAL the preferred joint sealant for roads and runways.
Excellent adhesion to both concrete and asphalt surfaces — prevents debonding and ensures long-term seal integrity.
Resists ingress of dirt and grit associated with trafficked pavements — maintaining watertight seal under traffic loading.
Works well across a wide range of ambient temperatures — from cold winters to hot Indian summers without cracking or bleeding.
Polymer modification provides enhanced flexibility, fatigue resistance, and recovery after traffic-induced deformation compared to standard bituminous sealants.
Prevents entry of water and foreign materials through joints — protecting the pavement structure from water ingress and subgrade damage.
Excellent low temperature flexibility and recovery properties — maintains seal integrity even in cold climates without becoming brittle and cracking.
Step-by-step guide for applying HINCOL ROADSEAL correctly.

Heat ROADSEAL to 180–185°C and pour at 175–185°C. Pour to a level 5–7mm below the road surface. Continuously agitate during heating and pouring. Do not overheat.
Yes. Concrete joints must be primed with HINCOL Bitumen Primer before applying ROADSEAL. Allow the primer solvent to fully evaporate before sealing. Metal surfaces do not require priming but should be warmed with a gas torch to promote adhesion.
HINCOL ROADSEAL is available in 15 kg plastic lined paper sacks and 200 kg Metal Drums. Keep in dry store under cover.
Yes. HINCOL ROADSEAL is recommended for runway edges, joints, and cracks on airport runways and taxiways, in addition to road pavement applications.
